COET NMKC
at a Glance
Khandesh
Bahuuddeshiya Sanstha’s College of Engineering & Technology, North Maharashtra Knowledge City, Jalgaon is a distinguished engineering college situated on the line drawn in between rural and semi-urban area of
Jalgaon (Maharashtra). It is approved
by AICTE, New Delhi,
recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State
and affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb
Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere . The institute was established in 2011 by honourable
president Shri R.V.Patil a renowned academician in
the area of Technical education and Mr. V.D.Nair a retired gazetted Officer
(Town Planner) . their vision is to
provide higher and professional educational opportunities for the thousands
of students of Kahndesh region who faced problems in pursuing higher education
due to lack of educational
resources.
At present, Institute offers four undergraduate
(UG) engineering programs ,namely Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.Total intake capacity of institute is 120 students at UG level.
The main objective of the Institute is to
devolved entrepreneurs and quality engineer with competence and character, to
become extra ordinary in the present technological scenarios of globalization,
who will contribute to techno and socioeconomics development of country . For
this the Institutes has introduced various value added and training Programs conducted by industry
expert. Active MOU’s have been signed to provide internship in industries.
Institutes also focus on multi-dimensional development of students by
encouraging them to participate in co-curricular and extra – curricular
activities at local and national
level. The Institute is working hard to bring various MNC’s for campus
placements with better salary packages. Institute have excellent academic
environment and hands on training programme for nurturing good quality technical
education among the budding engineers. This
resulted into more placements and Institute is keen to arguments it further.
Institute is quite self –assured for nurturing of all students as a young
bright, dynamic, talented and professional technocrats along with responsible
gentle citizen.

necessary and apply their discretion in specific cases.

The
student to faculty ratio for engineering and management degree program is as
per norms.

Staff:
The library is headed by the librarian and
supported by adequate staff

Director
of Physical Education:
DPE
has been appointed to enable the student
to develop their skills in sports and games.
VIII.
Training
and Placement Officer:
TPO
is responsible for developing linkages between institution and
industry/corporate bodies. He/she evaluates the job potential for students
passing from different branches of Engineering/Management and arrange for
in-campus & off-campus interviews and in-plant training.

Recruitment, Selection and
Appointment:

I.
Manpower
Planning:
Manpower planning is the first step in
recruitment. This is to be carried out at the start / end of each academic
term, i.e., six months that constitute a semester, of the institution. Staff
employment during the semester is avoided as far as possible. Planning the
process is concern of the Head of the Department. He/ She will put up the
requirement for his / her respective department to the Management during the
semester. The Management then determines if the vacancy is to be filled through
in-house staff or a new employee has to be selected. As far as possible the
Management will ensure that all existing employees are given the opportunity to
apply for new vacancy if they so
desire. Screening of the candidate for
advertised post is important. Definite guidelines are to be followed for
calling the qualified candidate.

particular internal individual or employee as the possible successors to the
key or senior position if it is vacant.

CODE
OF CONDUCT
All employees to follow rules and
regulations, and standards of courtesy, conduct, cooperation ethics and
etiquettes as expected by the institution. Following are examples of actions,
which are unacceptable to the institution and often result in disciplinary
action or termination of employment:

Insubordination

Theft
or conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude

Bringing
discredit to the institution
d)
Falsifying,
grafting, or forging of any record, report, or information

Any
other misconduct interfering with performance of job tasks

Unauthorized
absence from assigned work area

with the work performance of another employee

damage to equipment or property of the Institute

CHAPTER
IV
Leave
Policy
The leave rules for faculty and staff are
circulated for information of all concerned. The members of faculty and staff
are informed to strictly adhere to these rules.
Casual
Leave (CL):
Each faculty member shall avail one CL per
month subject to a maximum of 12 CL per calendar year. In case of emergency,
they can opt for 3 days of CL continuously. The members of faculty and staff
who have less than 1 year of service are allowed to avail a maximum of one CL
per month, but not exceeding 6 days per semester. Holidays interposed between
CLs will be taken as CL. No. of CLs and general holidays or ODs for exam duty
or ODs for other academic related work either prefixed or suffixed should not
exceed 7days. If, it exceeds 7 days all the general holidays or ODs will be
considered as CL.
Phone
Casual Leave (PCL):
The number of phone casual Leave, in case
of genuine reasons of emergency, per semester is 2 days out of 12 Casual Leaves
and 4 days per academic year. PCL more than 2 per semester will be considered
as Loss of Pay (LOP).
Medical
Leave:
The number of medical leave, in case of
genuine reasons of emergency, is 10 days per academic year.
Maternity
Leave (MAL):
Maternity leave may be granted to female
faculty and staff members for period of 6 months at the request of the member
based on a medical certification from a registered doctor.
Compensatory
Leave (CCL):
Faculty members are eligible to avail CCL
in lieu of working for the institute / management on Sundays / general holidays
Late
Register (LR):
Number of Late Attendance / Late Register
(LR) is 3 times per month. The permitted time for LR is maximum of half an hour
from the entry time to the institution. If, LR exceeds 3 times per month, then
it will be considered as permission. If permissions are already availed it will
be considered as half a day CL. If CL is already availed it will be treated as
loss of pay (LOP).
Permission:
The faculty members shall avail a permission for 1 hour twice a month to attend any urgent work at the start or in the end of a working day without affecting their academic work.
Exam
On Duty (EOD) (Subtype of DL):
The works related to Parent University is
obligatory on the part of faculty members. The faculty members shall avail a
Exam On Duty (EOD) for
1.
Attend
works related to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University Lonere,
Dist-Raigad is obligatory on the part of faculty members.
2.
Act as
DBATU Representative, Flying Squad Chairman / Member or External
Invigilator for conduct of the
University Examinations.
3.
Act
Chairman / Member of Board of Studies / Syllabus Committee / Question Paper
passing board / Result passing board of parent Universities. Block Invigilator
/ University Representative Duty for University Examinations
4.
External
examiner duty for DBATU Examinations eligible faculty members shall be
permitted as per the order received from the Regional Office.
5.
Other
On Duty Related to Academic Work (OOD):
The number of Other On Duty (OOD) is 5 days
per semester. The OOD may be availed for the academic related works by the
faculty like:

Attend
Paper presentation / National / International Conference / Seminars / Symposium
/ Workshop / Opening Exhibitions / Invited as Chief Guest / Key note Speaker /
Resource Person to other colleges.
·
Invited
by other Colleges / Organizations for honoring a faculty member for his/her
achievements.
·
Attend
Conventions / Meeting of professional bodies like ISTE, IEEE, CSI, IEI etc.
·
Attend
Viva voice / Doctoral Committee meetings or writing course work examinations
for Ph. D. pursuing research scholars.
·
Act as
Chairman / Member of Syllabus Framing / Question Paper / Result passing boards
/ Members of doctoral committee of other Universities.
Special
On Duty (SOD) (Subtype of DL):
The SOD is provided to the faculty for the
purpose of
·
Attend
more than 2 days sponsored programmes like FDP / SDP / Summer / Winter School
etc., organized by Government / Renowned Institutions.
·
Organize
the Function / Seminar / Symposium / National Conferences / Exhibition etc. by
our faculty and Faculty members who are deputed by HoDs.
·
Accompanying
Students for industrial visits / Placements.
Note: Granting OOD / SOD solely at the
discretion of the principal considering the overall works of the institution
and depending upon the situations prevailing at that time in the best interest
of the college.
Vacation
Leave (VL):
·
Both
Winter and Summer Vacation Leaves are offered as offered time to time by
DTE.
·
Faculty
Members who has completed more than two years is eligible for Vacation
Leave.
